转移ring to Another U.S. Higher Education Institution
The following documents needs to be provided to 你r JU DSO in order to transfer 你r SEVIS record to 你r new 学校.
- Written confirmation of acceptance to another Student and Exchange 访问or Program (SEVP)-certified 学校.
- 联系 information for the new 学校’s DSO.
- The Student and Exchange 访问or Information System (SEVIS) 学校 code for the transfer-in 学校.
Once 你r transfer release date arrives, the DSO at 你r previous 学校 will not have access to 你r SEVIS record, and 你r new DSO can create a new Form I-20 for 你. It is important to get a new Form I-20 (signed by 你r new DSO and 你) as soon as possible. To maintain 你r status, register for classes and contact 你r new DSO within 15 days of the program start date listed on 你r new Form I-20.
JU 转移-Out Procedure
- Complete JU's Institutional Withdrawal Form.
- Ensure all financial obligations are taken care of and clear all holds on 你r account.
- If 你've already registered for a future semester (after the transfer date) but are now planning to transfer out, please drop all JU classes that 你 don't plan to attend.
Travel Outside 美国.S. & 再入
While studying at JU and traveling outside 美国nited States, 你 need to have proper documents in order to re-enter 美国nited States.
Prior to departing 美国.S. for long breaks, please comply with essential rules to maintain F-1 status:
- 携带一个 valid I-20 with a travel signature from a DSO within the last 12 months (our office recommends getting a new signature every six-nine months).
- Check 你r visa's expiration date; if it's expired, 你'll need to renew it at a U.S. embassy or consulate before re-entering 美国.S. F-1 students can remain in 美国.S. on an expired visa. However, to do so, their I-20 must be up to date and their status maintained.
- As a general rule, 你r passport must be valid for six months beyond the date 你 exit 美国.S. Please renew while 你’re home it if it doesn’t meet this criteria.
- 计划 return to campus well before the start of the next term, allowing for potential travel delays.
Citizens of certain countries, returning from Canada, Mexico and the adjacent islands may be able to re-enter 美国S with an expired F-1 visa using Automatic Visa Revalidation.
