The Davis Center for Professional Development offers student advising and career development 机会.  

 

建议 is available in the Center, DCOB 262, from 9-5 Monday through Friday from our Peer or 员工的顾问s. Walk-in or sign up for an appointment on Starfish.  

 

Our advising goals are to:

• 主动 assist students in their exploration of personal, academic and career goals.
• Provide accurate information about course progression(s), degree audits, and university 政策.
• Empower students to understand their own degree progress.

After working at JU since 2016, 希瑟·赫斯顿 was elevated to the Director of 本科 学生 Success and the Davis Center for Professional Development in the Fall of 2021. 她 is also the Davis College of Business and 技术 本科 Internship Coordinator, which she started in the Summer of 2022.

Heather started at JU in 2016 as the Dean's Administrative Assistant after holding an administrative role at the College of Human Environmental Sciences at the University 阿拉巴马州的. 她 was promoted in 2017 to Assistant Director of 本科 项目 in the Davis College of Business and 技术, which began her detailed oversight of our undergraduate programs.

Originally from Dunstable, England, Heather graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in 管理. 她 received her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Jacksonville University.

Heather was an NCAA 学生-Athlete on the University of Montevallo's Women's Golf 团队. 她 lives in Jacksonville with her husband, son, and daughter. 她 enjoys spending time with her family, watching JU Athletic events, and exploring all that Jacksonville 必须提供.

Originally from Puerto Rico, 茱莉亚Velezon is a higher education professional specializing in Academic 建议, 学生 Affairs and Compliance, with over 13 years of progressive 经验. Her passion for Business and 技术 is rooted in two things, her daughter's love for technology and engineering and the advancement of technology in both real-world applications and education.

Over the years, she has had the pleasure of participating in mentorship programs, like Computing Loops and co-advise the Society for Women Advancing in 技术. When possible, Julia likes to take part in Diversity and 包容 Committees, which focus to establish a stronger representation of underrepresented students by creating more intentional networking and mentoring 机会. 她’s highly motivated and excited to merge her love for advising and academics together to better serve our student population.
