Areas of Specialization
Dr. Christopher specializes in the theoretical foundations and applications of appreciative inquiry and human caring science. Dr. Christopher is a Senior Scholar with the Watson Caring Science Institute. Dr. Christopher completed her post-doctoral fellowship in July 2020 with world renowned scholar, Dr. 吉恩·沃森.
As a nursing informaticist, 罗伯塔 aims to innovate and integrate caring science into simulated and virtual caring experiences. 罗伯塔 conceptualized Caring Fidelity (Caritas-Veritas Fidelity) for simulation using narrative pedagogy approaches. 罗伯塔 authored Chapter 17 in the much anticipated second edition of the Creating a Caring Science Curriculum: An Emancipatory Pedagogy for Nursing edited by Dr. 玛西亚山 博士和. 吉恩·沃森. Chapter 17 showcases exemplars in the use of human caring in a virtual, simulated electronic health record environment, and introduces Caring Fidelity.
罗伯塔's other research focus centers on Caring for Joy, Narrative Pedagogy, and Appreciative Inquiry. 据博士说. Christopher, the caring moment and healing/educating/learning experiences should be joyful, yet high rates of burnout, compassion fatigue, and despair continue to be reported in nursing, healthcare, and higher education.

Professional Information
Dr. 罗伯塔 Christopher joined Jacksonville University in April 2015 as an Assistant Professor in the BRCHS Keigwin School of Nursing. 罗伯塔 has been a nurse for more 超过23年. She received both her BSN and MSN from the University of North Florida. Dr. Christopher completed her doctorate of educational leadership with a specialization in curriculum and instruction. Her doctoral dissertation research study focused on the relationship among presenteeism, absenteeism, nurse safety outcomes, and quality 的护理.
Dr. Christopher is an ANCC board certified nurse executive, and is board certified as a healthcare technology specialist clinician/practitioner consultant (CHTS-CP) through the American 健康 Information Management Association (AHIMA). 罗伯塔是 a Certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator.
Dr. Christopher has been published in the Journal of Professional Nursing, Journal of Nursing Administration, Nursing Today, Cochrane Nursing Care Field, Nursing Economics, 国际 Journal Review, and Resuscitation. Additionally, she is a former member of the Cochrane Nursing Care Field. Dr. Christopher is a past president of the Lambda Rho Chapter-at large of Sigma Theta Tau. She is currently serving as the FNA representative to the Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC). Dr. Christopher is also an invited member of the NOBC Impact group that is responsible for researching the impact of nurses 董事会. Dr. Christopher is a former member of the HIMSS TIGER Scholars Workgroup.
